Finding the True Purpose of My Life

For those that don’t know me personally, I grew up in a somewhat wealthy environment my whole life, where as kids, we had to decide between paths on either making money or to have passion.
That was a problem, since having only passion is very tiring.
I know that my father works very hard to give our family a good life, but his ignorance really blows when it comes to “money”, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I just feel like if I have a purpose in life, I’d become a happier person overall.
Am I wrong?
Money vs. Purpose
We all want to become successful one way or another, and truth is, our generation is about purpose. I don’t disagree (and I’d go with purpose anyway), but we’re all stuck in this currency trading loop and there’s nothing we can do about it.
This post isn’t about telling you to quit on your purpose, but realize being ignorant about either or won’t do you any good. I also learned that you can become rich doing virtually anything, whether you love it or not because success comes from work ethic.
Now, there are some industries that don’t make much, and that’s okay as long as you can help yourself financially.
..but for those that go all in with money, I don’t know how you sleep at night. Jeez.
How I Found my Purpose
People know me as the techie kid, and I still am, but for 10 years since high school, the “making money” mindset had me stuck in this relentless ignorant loop thinking that I was going to make millions out of bullshit.
..but that turned out very wrong.
I still remember when I started my website, it was about nothing but technology, and I quickly realized, writing posts every day about it bored the shit out of me.
It went to the point where I was re-thinking should I even have a website.
It survived, 6 years to be exact. I maintained, and learned web programming along the way, through a long time and work ethic.
..and I’m glad I did, because starting today, I found my purpose.
After college, I set myself back to China and started my own business with four partners running a gaming arena, because I wanted to be involved in technology rather than the games itself.
Things didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, but hey, business is booming.
Within that year, I learned that I should not surround myself with technology because it wasn’t my purpose. It was my passion, and passion can get you very stubborn.
Until my mom presented me this network marketing opportunity that I aggressively declined for a year. Surprisingly, this was the answer I was looking for, and that took 10 years.
Go figure.
Cheers to Opportunities
During that time, I joined the free opportunity only because I love their products and innovation, but after three months into the business, I found my purpose through a mutual friend connect on Facebook, that sold me on a shower unit I was going to buy through my mother anyway.
I bought the shower unit from him and gave it a long and hard thought about jumping ship.
..but I did it anyway, all because of “family.
I even traveled to Los Angeles, just to see a person I never saw before.
It was the circle of people, supportive friends, and a strong leader that helped me define my purpose.
..and I did I regret this decision? Nope, not at all.
